Her love of learning combined with her passion for helping people makes Tara Denis an amazing tutor.
Tara's background in education and her Special Needs Educational Assistant Certificate (MacEwan University 2015) provides the foundation for her work with students.
As a stay-at-home mom (for 10 years), Tara experienced the obstacles that families can face first-hand when trying to access needed services.
Tara's volunteer experiences for the activities, clubs, and schools that her children attended enabled her to have a multi-layered understanding of the education system and the barriers that are present.
Tara developed her ability to advocate and continually uses this skill both personally and professionally, and continues to speak out for those who haven´t found their voice yet.
During Tara's 11-year career as an Educational Assistant with Northern Gateway Public Schools, she worked with students from kindergarten to grade 7. She has helped students with ADD/ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism, Behavioral Difficulties, Dyslexia, Emotional Difficulties, Learning Disabilities, Moderate Developmental Delay, Tourettes, and Social Skills Deficits overcome their particular challenges and become successful learners.
Having a diverse toolkit has given Tara the flexibility and range to effectively meet each student’s individual learning needs. There are many approaches and options available to address specific needs and being open to the possibilities is an advantage of working with Tara.
Tara´s holistic approach and openness to exploring a variety of possibilities are essential elements in her search for the key to each person’s learning breakthrough.
